Care manager and elder counselor, Nick Zullo, shares a scholarly article on the issue of depression in elderly, particularly in elderly care-recipients.

Although often recognized in caregivers, depression in care-recipients is less likely to be recognized and treated. Probably this is due to the fact that the elderly care-recipient has so many other issues with disability and health that depression is often overlooked.

The quality of life for a care-recipient and for the caregiver could be significantly improved by recognizing and treating depression.
