About me:
Anne has been working with Seniors for over 24 years She has
dedicated her life to improving the quality of the lives of seniors by
giving them a voice and helping them reach their full potential.
Her career began in 1984 as a volunteer with Lutheran Social Services
providing protective services to Seniors in her community, assessing their
needs and finding Smart Solutions that allowed them to remain in their
homes longer. An award winning Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Anne
spent 16 years working to improve the quality of life for individuals
requiring rehabilitation and long-term care services.
Anne's professional experience as a nursing home administrator led her in
recognizing the growing need in our community for professional guidance and
services for seniors and their families.
She is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care
Managers and a Stephen Minister. She possesses an Associates Degree in
Social Services,a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources; specializing
in Youth and Adult services,a certificate in Geriatric Care Management and
is licensed in the State of Michigan as a Nursing Home Administrator.
Growing up in a large family she lived in the same home with her
grandparents. Anne had a particularly strong bond with her grandfather, so
it came as no surprise to her family when she decided to live with him after
graduating from college. Grandpa was 80 years old at that time and
beginning to deteriorate both physically and mentally.
Anne took over the responsibilities of caring for her mother, who has
Alzheimer's disease, after her father's sudden death in 2001. This
experience has brought her a higher level of compassion and sensitivity to
the needs of those affected by this devastating disease.
It was Anne's personal experience as well as her desire to help seniors
maintain their independence that was the inspiration for the founding of
Smart Senior Services.

Top qualities: Great Results, Personable, High Integrity
"I called Anne, without knowing her, to assist me in the care of my elderly
parents, who lived in a different state than I did. They had been getting
marginal care from an agency that was undersupervising their staff. After
some preliminaries, Anne was introduced to Mom and Dad, who seemed to accept
her immediately. We communicated by email and phone to my brothers (who were
local) and I, establishing a plan to enhance their care. This plan has now
been implemented, and the change in the home is palpable. The new caregivers
are a "world apart" improvement of the previous set, and the feeling in the
home is more organized and hopeful. Anne has managed the changes and
challenges very well, keeping my parents well attuned to what was needed,
and getting their buy-in before implementation. She continues to communicate
with various family members when appropriate. Anne has been spectacular in
pulling this off and taking my lead when necessary, yet always being my
parent's advocate
. The plan is for her to continue to provide oversight, allowing me to
concentrate on my medical practice. I would give her my highest
recommendation as a Care Manager." September 4, 2008
