Client Testimonials:

"The positive, caring approach of Serving Seniors tremendously eased my Mom's transition to assisted living, while preserving and even enhancing family harmony." --- Susan (daughter)

"Serving Seniors was exceptional in their caring attitude and understanding of both my mother's condition (physical and mental) and needs, as well as our needs. Every patient (and family of the patient) would benefit from having the services and support of a care manager like Serving Seniors." --- David B. (son)

"Having Serving Seniors for an advocate made dealing with the personnel at the nursing home much more pleasant for me. After her meeting with the staff, I was greeted by name by everyone when I made my daily visits to (my wife). I particularly appreciated Serving Seniors contacting hospice care and starting the wheels rolling for Medicaid funding. The hospice people were very helpful to me in the saddest time in my life. After (my wife) finally passed, Serving Seniors sent me printed material to help me cope with my loss." --- Richard C. (spouse)

"(Serving Seniors helped by) having an educated, thoughtful, objective opinion to assist in making the best of an otherwise extremely difficult situation. I live in Colorado - my mother and father live in Michigan. Your services were very helpful." --- Barbara (daughter).

"(Most helpful was) being able to reach our Care Manager easily and have her show up whenever I needed her. She showed me sympathy and gave me support. Thank you all for your precious help when I needed it at one of the most important times of life. I didn't feel so alone." --- Joyce (daughter).

"I found all services provided for me in the care of my parents helpful, but the personal care of Serving Seniors in the past few years was invaluable to me. When I needed help and advise you were there. You helped with evaluation of their needs, helped me choose a care facility, and our Care Manager was so loving and caring over the years in medical supervision . .. she was a friend to Mom and Dad and to me." --- Susan (daughter).

(Most helpful was the GCM) "meeting with the nurses and doctors . . .rechecking, asking questions, reading charts gave us the feeling that the most was being done for my husband's mother" --- Jean (daughter-in-law)

"I like the way you respond so quickly to helping the family when they need help right away. (Most helpful was) the level of personal attention, genuine caring, and willingness to be flexible." --- Ricka (daughter).

About Us

As the founder and president of Serving Seniors, Diane Hischke understands what it's like to balance the care of an aging loved one with the demands of a career and family.

A registered nurse for over 40 years, Diane recognized the need for an organization of professional care managers while experiencing the challenges of caring for her own mother, who had developed Alzheimer’s. Like many caregivers, she often tried to do everything by herself' a formidable juggling act even for an experienced nurse, all while being a mother to then 5-year-old twins, and teaching psychiatric nursing at Oakland and Wayne State Universities.

Diane’s own experience inspired her to found Serving Seniors in 1992, with a commitment to personalized, quality care. Since then, Serving Seniors has grown to become a trusted resource for caregivers seeking the best quality of life for their loved ones.

Recognized as one of only 32 Fellow Certified Geriatric Care Managers in the United States, Diane is a co-author of The Alzheimer's Answer Book and The Parkinson's Answer Book, and founder of the Geriatric Care Manager Network of Southeast Michigan. Diane is a Fellow in the Leadership Academy of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (NAPGCM) and a member of its Board of Directors. Her professional affiliations include the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau Honorary Nursing Society, and the National Academy of Certified Care Managers.

Diane possesses a Masters of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, with a Minor in Teaching, from Wayne State University.
