Linda S. MelanconThe Legacy Center of Louisiana, LLC is a law firm located a few miles south of Baton Rouge, Louisiana in Prairieville. Our practice focuses on estate planning, elder law and probate issues.

The mission of the Legacy Center is to help Louisiana’s families leave a lasting legacy – a legacy beyond the mere transmission of material wealth. We accomplish our mission by guiding our clients through the legal maze of will and trust law, Medicaid law, Veterans’ benefit law, tax law, and probate law. But, we do much more than that. We also share the concerns and burdens of our elder law clients who are caring for a loved one, counsel our estate planning clients in ways to preserve the harmony that is easily lost upon the disability or death of a loved one, and comfort our probate clients after the death of a loved one. In short, we strive to treat our clients in the same manner that we would like to be treated.

We offer the following legal services that we are committed to providing in accordance with the highest moral, ethical and professional standards:

  • Estate Planning
  • Elder Law
  • Medicaid Planning
  • VA Benefits Law
  • Guardianships
  • Business Planning
  • Powers of Attorney
  • Probate & Succession
  • Health Care Directives
  • Special Needs Planning

Testimonials

My experiences with Linda Melancon have been extremely satisfying. She and her staff made me feel very comfortable right from the start both in person and over the telephone. Linda is a patient and kind person. She is thorough and precise. I appreciated that she made sure she completely comprehended what I wanted before any preliminary work began and then would go over the matter again in detail upon completion to make sure I understood the legal language and was satisfied. I would highly recommend her services. - Mary M., Baton Rouge

Linda, I want to thank you for your excellent handling of the legal affairs of my parents. You were so very patient and made sure that they completely understood the information in all areas. We were impressed with your professionalism, your command of the issues at hand, your desire to meet all their needs and requirements, and the attention to each and every detail as well as the efficient and timely completion of the documents. In the past, our experience with attorneys at times was less pleasant and we were not as satisfied that we were presented all options available and we felt completely comfortable with all decisions made with your suggestions and directions. I am happy to recommend you to my family, friends, and anyone who asks for a recommendation for legal work. I give you my permission to use this testimonial in any way you desire. -Jean Hudgens Hall
