Carmon FamilyCarmon Community Funeral Homes, Inc., a family firm owned by the Carmon Family, operates 8 full service locations and a crematory in Hartford and Tolland Counties located in the towns of Avon, Granby, Hartford, Poquonock, Rockville, South Windsor, Suffield, Vernon, and Windsor. We have funeral directors who specialize in helping families with Social Secutiry and Veterans Benefits as well as all aspects of Title 19 and Medicaid issues. The Carmon Family also founded Mary's Place, A Center for Grieving Children and Families, in Windsor that operates a free center with continuing self-help programs for children and adults who have suffered a loss through death.

Each of our funeral homes offers a complete range of services in tastefully decorated, serene surroundings. Professionally trained and licensed staff members stand ready to provide sensitive, caring service, and strive to exceed the expectations of each and every family. Our communities are wonderfully diverse in religious beliefs, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds. Our staff fully appreciates these differences, and our training includes heartfelt understanding and respect for the special needs of all whom we serve.

We are proud that our staff is involved in our communities. We are: volunteer firemen, coaches, and members of churches, fraternal organizations, civic groups and local Chambers of Commerce. As a funeral home, we have been recognized by the National Funeral Directors Association as a Pursuit of Excellence Funeral Home. In the year 2000, we were awarded The Family Business of the Year by the University of Connecticut and in 2001 we were recognized nationally by MassMutual’s Family Business Award.

 about me

Frank W. Carmon, Jr., who founded Carmon Funeral Homes over a half-century ago, had as his guiding philosophy a desire to be of service to members of his community in their time of need. That philosophy still guides the Carmon family and staff at their eight locations: Avon, Windsor, Poquonock, Granby, Suffield, South Windsor, Vernon, and Rockville.

We believe our work is a “mission of service” and it's a privilege to help a family during the most difficult time in their life. We sincerely believe our care and outreach contribute to make our communities better places in which to live.
