The partnership of Margie Gaulden Gilbert, MSW, LCSW, PIP, and Sue Ann Bingham Brown, MSW, LCSW, PIP, CCJTS, specializes in providing counseling, consulting, and educational program services to individuals, families, groups, and organizations in a private practice setting, on-site as requested by agencies and organizations, and/or in community settings. Gilbert & Brown provide a wide spectrum of services to a wide variety of clients, from the individual to large agencies and corporations, and from children and youth to the aged.

Background experience of the partnership includes clinical social work practice in the areas of individual and group counseling, case management, social service coordination, nursing homes, home health care, public housing, home studies, community-based mental health centers, hospice, program planning, elderly and geriatric issues, group work, supervision and administrative skills, positive parenting and family skills, grief and bereavement issues, and psycho-educational support groups.

  • Workshops and seminars tailored to unique needs of professional groups, schools, churches, community groups, civic groups and clubs, agencies, businesses, and corporations
  • BSW/ LGSW/ LCSW/ PIP licensure supervision for Social Workers
  • Contract Counseling and Social Work Consulting services with various community, local and state agencies (Alabama State Department of Human Resources (Child Welfare and Adult Protective Services divisions), Children’s Aid Society/Alabama Pre & Post Adoption Connections (APAC), Grace House Ministries, Home Health Care agencies, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) mental health provider, etc.)
  • Home Studies
  • Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners (ASBSWE) approved CE Provider

Sue Ann Bingham Brown, MSW, LCSW, PIP, CCJTS, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Anthropology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Mississippi in 1979. Ms. Brown earned the professional licensure of LBSW in the state of Alabama in April 1995. In 1998, Ms. Brown received her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. Ms. Brown earned the professional licensure of LGSW in 1999, LCSW in 2001, and PIP in 2002. In 2007, Ms. Brown was approved as a Clinical Certified Juvenile Treatment Specialist (CCJTS) by the American College of Forensic Counselors. Sue Ann is licensed by the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners; License #0598-1586C.
