Our tub to shower conversions can save seniors thousands of dollars when compared to a typical tub to shower remodel. Using the senior’s existing tub, we cut & remove a section from the sidewall. Into this opening, we then customize & seal our acrylic step insert. The reduced lower opening allows the senior to easily safely step into their tub for showering. Our one-day process can be performed on most tubs, including those consisting of cast iron. And should future bathing requirement change, most installations are reversible. A door model for bathing is also available.

Our one day tub to shower conversion process provides an entry opening of 24 inches (wide) x 8"-10" deep (down) and results in a 2”-3” inside lip, that when cover with a shower curtain retains the shower water. I also install grab bars & can enlarge most interior doorways 1½ -2 inches without the mess of remodeling.

After opting for early retirement, I volunteered with our local department on aging to install grab bars. Recognizing a need for safe & affordable showering solutions that would allow the elderly to live more independently in 2005, I founded Affordable Step in Showers, LLC. Since then, I’ve converted hundreds of senior & institutional tubs in the greater Cleveland area, including the NE Ohio counties of Erie, Lorain, Cuyahoga, Summit, Geauga, Lake & Ashtabula. Being a “one-man show”, the person you speak with initially, is the person who will be doing your tub conversion - i.e. I do NOT subcontract your tub! I am a member of the Concord-Leroy Chamber of Commerce and am insured and bonded (where necessary).
