My mission statement is to improve the quality of life for the elderly of Rabun and Habersham Counties. We have managed to do just that. We have 10 qualified and gifted caregivers who love what they do. We specialize in Senior Care. Being a leader for Rabun County's Alzheimer's Family Support Group has given me even a more personal look into the needs of families caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of Dementia. Companion care, personal care, assisting with everyday activities, transportation, shopping and preparing meals are just a few of our services. Monitoring medications; this is the most requested service of all. ( Many older adults either forget to take their meds or they over medicate because they did not remember taking it the first time.) We are also able to provide respite care as it is needed for family caregivers who need a break.

Most older adults need only a 3 hours of assistance two or three days a week. A ride to a medical appointment or a trip to the supermarket. Assist at Home Senior Care may be required for temporary care after surgery or fall. We can be there for ever how long the service is needed. I will be glad to come into your home and sit down and talk about your situation. Every person is different and that is why we listen to your specific needs and request.

About Us

I was born in Rabun County and love being able to call it home once again. My husband and I lived 30 years in Tunnel Hill, Ga. with our three children. In 2005 We moved to Mountain City to care for my 76 year old Mother, ( well when she "gets old") I started Assist at Home Senior Care in May 2006. Since I was 16 years old I have cared taken care of older adults. In Home health care, nursing homes, private duty homecare and hospital care; I have worked and volunteered in them all. Everyday people ask me how I can take care of the sick and dying" that must be so depressing and sad." My answer is always the same: I can make a difference at the end of their life and they make a difference in mine. It is a true privilege to bring comfort and help those who need care and their families. Mary Lou
