Assessment & Care Planning:
•Our specialty is to provide viable options to meet the individual needs of our client. Support and direction is given to help the family decide which option is best, and how to implement and coordinate care choices.
•With individual needs in mind, care and support services are tailored to the client and family. Understanding that needs and wishes change with time, our services are flexible and may be quickly adjusted to suit the immediate situation.
•Ongoing assessment by our Care Management team provides a means to be proactive for adjusting services before it becomes a major problem to make a change.
•Our team of Personal Assistants are "hand picked" for the client. The family is given a voice in who will be providing care, as well as how the care will be given.
•Each care provider is trained specifically for the needs and preferences of the individual and family. Our services are designed to support and assist without interfering with routines and traditions.
•Where others simply provide care, we build relationships and a network of support to enhance well-being.

In 1996 COMPASS, LLC was formed in an effort to provide for the unmet needs of elderly, disabled adults and people who have mental illness . In September of 2009, Compass ShiningCare Services became a non-profit agency in order to offer more free and affordable services, while still providing the highest quality care and service to meet the growing needs of our community.

Joanne H. McCarley is the Founder and Executive Director of Compass Care Services. She is a Certified Geriatric Care Manager and has a degree in Social Work, as well as 20 years of experience working with seniors and disabled adults in both medical and community settings. As Executive Director, Joanne has utilized her education and experience to develop programs offering necessary resources and services to disabled adults and elders, as well as the families and professionals who are responsible for them. In addition to program development and directing, she remains highly involved as our Lead Care Manager. Joanne views her work as more than a career and business. Having elderly loved ones herself, she understands the level of need for our kind of services, and is passionate and dedicated to creating and providing superior, innovative, affordable services for families.
