Donald S. Hecht, Esq Donald S. Hecht, Esq. is an attorney with 40 years experience in the areas of Special Needs, Trust, Estate, Financial, Disability, and Health Care Planning for persons with disabilities, the elderly and their families. He lives on Long Island and has an office in Garden City.

Mr. Hecht has lectured to the Bar through the Nassau Academy of Law and is an active member of the Elder Law, and Trusts and Estates Sections and Committees of the New York State Bar Associations. He is a founding member of the Elder Law, Social Service and Health Advocacy Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association. He is also a charter member of the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, and a member of the Professional Advisory Board and former First Vice President and Director of the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island.

Mr. Hecht is a mentor to the Bar, through the Nassau County Bar Association, on the topics of Special Needs, Estate Planning, Wills, Trusts, Guardianship and Rights of the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities. Mr. Hecht is quoted frequently in Newsday and is also a law columnist for Able Newspaper for the Disabled, a contributing author of a text for attorneys on Guardianship of the Disabled, and, a former Graduate School Adjunct Professor or Law.
