Thank you for your interest in in-home care. We help people of all ages who need assistance to live or recover at home. We assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) - eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring and ambulation, and continence. Our goal is to help clients and their adult children, friends and family achieve the things most
people want from in-home care - independent living and self-reliance, safety and security, freedom from worry, and peace of mind.
Homewatch CareGivers started in 1980 in Denver, Colorado as a home watch and in-home care business. The company grew through the years and franchised in 1997. Presently, Homewatch has more than 100 offices throughout the United States and Canada. The Company prides itself on delivering the highest quality care services in the industry.
Our Santa Clara County office opened in July, 2005, and focuses on the in-home needs of residents from Atherton to Gilroy. We provide services to people in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Atherton, Mountain View, Los Altos, Cupertino, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Campbell, Milpitas, Morgan Hill, Gilroy and San Jose.
Our CareGivers include both men and women and come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and all have 3, or more, years experience with in-home or facility care. Many of our Personal Care Providers (PCPs) are career caregivers who have worked in this field for 10, 15, 20+ years. We also have Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), many of whom are enrolled in LVN or RN programs and have extensive facility experience. All our CareGivers undergo extensive background checks after which they are insured and bonded by the Company.
Homewatch CareGivers strives to be a very flexible partner in caring for our clients. We realize that people's needs are unique and variable. Our goal is to offer whatever services are necessary to enable our clients to live comfortably and safely in their homes. We provide companion care and light housekeeping as our base offering. Our CareGivers will assist clients with their ADLs (eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, ambulation, and continence). We can run errands for clients (grocery shopping, etc.), assist with household management (manage the mail, make sure bills get paid, etc.) as well as provide transportation and escort services. We take our clients to doctor's appointments, out shopping, to church, to visit friends --- anywhere he or she might want to go while maintaining an active, engaged lifestyle. When desired, our CNA's will accompany clients to doctor's appointments to ensure that all the relevant medical information is
documented and communicated back to the family.
Homewatch CareGivers is the exclusive provider of a cutting-edge dementia program called Pathways To Memory. Based on a solid foundation of scientific research, Pathways To Memory is targeted at clients in the early - to mid - stages of dementia. The client participates in a 12-week individualized program of exercises for the mind which are designed to rebuild some of the implicit memory pathways that have been damaged by
dementia-related diseases. Participants are able to slow their cognitive decline, gain improvement in ADL function, reduce the anxiety that can lead to disturbing behaviors, and show improved scores on standardized mental impairment tests. Pathways To Memory can lead to significantly improved quality of life for both the client and the family.
We also offer our Veteran's In-home Pension (VIP) program. Through this program we assist qualified veteran's and spouses in obtaining an Aid and Attendance Pension from the Veteran's Administration. This pension can provide as much as $1700/month in tax-free income and is intended to help defray the costs of in-home care.
Most of our CareGivers are our W-2 employees. They will have passed a thorough background check, be bonded, have liability insurance, and have worker's compensation insurance. Because they are our employees, we (not you) are responsible for their payroll, income and employer taxes. With employees, no cash is exchanged between clients and caregivers. Instead, we invoice you on a weekly basis. This full-service approach allows you to bring a reliable and trusted CareGiver into your home without the burdens and liabilities of an employer - employee relationship.
The first step toward obtaining service is a free initial meeting between our company and the client and family. During the meeting, we talk about the services desired and the options for providing care. We conduct a free client assessment and a free home-safety inspection to ensure the home is safe for the client and the caregiver. We also conduct a free fall-risk assessment that may help with the purchase of walkers and wheelchairs. The
meeting generally lasts an hour or a little more. We leave behind a folder containing a service agreement (and other paperwork). After reading and signing these documents, we can begin at any time.
Thank you for the opportunity to introduce Homewatch CareGivers. Please call us to arrange your free initial meeting.
