Senior and Special Needs Solutions, LLC is an organization dedicated to supporting dignified living and provides a team of professionals (An Elder Law Attorney, A Life Care Coordinator, a Registered Nurse, a Social Worker (with a Masters Degree in Counseling), a Gerontologist, a Medicare and health insurance specialist, etc.), and a Reverse Mortgage specialist to sort through the confusing maze of available resources. Althea West, LTCP, GCM, Gerontologist is a member of the National Association of Geriatric Care Managers and is a long-term care consultant for insurance and financial professionals as well as individuals and their families (She is also the long-term care specialist for AAA). Althea is an Elder Care Coordinator for Senior & Special Needs Solutions, LLC and develops Life Care Plans for older adults so they can stay home as long as possible, and gain access to all the services needed to successfully achieve and maintain a quality life.

Althea has worked in sales, training, and marketing. She has taught continuing education classes for the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors, local community colleges and is currently an adjunct professor at Webster University and University of Missouri, St. Louis. She also volunteers her time working on community-based service projects, and has won several awards for leadership and service.

Althea brings a special empathy to her work. She had the full-time care giving responsibilities for her mother in the last year of her life, and understands the potentially devastating emotional and financial costs of long-term care. This understanding, along with her experience and strong educational background, makes her the perfect choice when looking for a senior planning consultant.

Althea is married and has just recently become a “Nana” – her son and daughter-in-law adopted a one-year old little girl from Russia. She and her husband spent many years flying for a major airline, and now enjoy traveling and working together. Hobbies include snow skiing, bike riding on the Katy Trail, singing, and reading.
