Jim Bedwell is a recognized expert in Long Term Care financial planning. Jim provides public service seminars in addition to personal complimentary consultations. Jim is licensed by the State of Florida, a certified senior specialist and holds a CLTC certification from The Corporation for Long Term Care Certification.
Jim was born in Galax, Virginia and grew up outside of Richmond, Virginia. He graduated in 1973 with a degree in Business Management. Jim also played baseball and football in high school, football in college and had a short stint professionally.
Jim was an examiner for the Commonwealth of Virginia at the State Corporation Commission from 1973 to 1985. He then worked for Matlack Inc. where he was earned Salesman of the Year status in 1988. In 1988 Matlack was celebrating it's 100th year in business as a liquid transport trucking company.
In 1992 Jim opened Discount Travel in Marietta, Georgia which became a major provider of travel services in his area. In 1997 Jim sold his agency and moved back to Richmond Virginia to help his mother and sister care for his brother , Rodney, who was stricken with ALS or Lou Gherigs Disease.
In 1998 Jim joined Bankers Life & Casualty Company. His experience helping with his brother convinced him that the need for Long Term Care planning was essential for every American family. Jim has been with Bankers since then and takes pride in Bankers celebration of 125 years in business during 2004.
Jim moved to Sarasota Florida in 2001 where he enjoys fishing, boating, camping, bicycling, motorcycling, gardening and entertaining as an amateur magician.
