About Our Current Listings
When we first started our web site 3 1/2 years ago it was simply to provide information and Internet links to the public. Over the years, a number of people requested to be promoted on our site and in September of 2004 we reorganized the site to provide for paid listings. Currently, we have 58 listing entities who have come to us primarily by requesting a listing and filling out a form on the web site.
We have tracked statistics on these listings for the past 12 months. On average, each of them has received at least 4 requests directly on their personal forms and we have given them on average 10 referrals from Internet users who have sent requests for service directly to us. In addition, each of them has received on average 931 visits to their personal web page over the past 12 months. With the launch of our new restructured site we will no longer solicit direct requests. We hope all of these inquiries will now go directly to our listing entities.
Over the past year it has been our intent to use the web site as a platform to launch the National Care Planning Council. As part of this launch we are making a major effort to encourage care service providers to become members in order to list on the sites. We feel our search engine relevance more than justifies the small membership fee. And by giving members quantifiable benefits right from the start, we are more likely to be successful in getting a larger number of people to join. It is important to offer a large number of service options for our users.
Up to this point we have not furnished our listing entities with any statistics. But beginning with the launch of the Council we will post these statistics monthly. Knowing your account number, you can see how many times your personal page was visited over the month. You should also expect to receive some direct requests on your personal request form.
Google Survey of Search Engine Placement for Our Current Listings
We used the paid listings over the past year to experiment with different ways to present our clients to the search engines in order to maximize a search for their services. We have finally hit on a system that works quite well and has been incorporated into a restructured web site that was launched on February 6, 2006
The data below represent a survey conducted on January 25, 2006 on Google for three categories of listings.
- Care manager,
- long term care insurance specialist and
- elder attorney.
These three categories were restructured using our new presentation and uploaded to the server two weeks earlier. This was enough time for the Google WebCrawler to index these listings.
As good as they are, we expect our search results to dramatically improve this year due to a tremendous effort on our part to heavily promote our web site and as a result move your listings up in rank.
Please Note: When we mention a Google listing below followed by numbers, this refers to the placement of our web site after a Google search for a particular word string. #1 means our web site is the first listing on the left side out of possibly millions that are non-paid listing.
Care Manager Survey
We used three different search categories for care manager:
- care manager,
- geriatric care manager and
- elder care manager.
The categories were combined into nine different combinations of search strings using state, city and city and state requests. This resulted in 90 unique search strings for each of our 10 care manager listings. Here is a summary of those 90 searches and their ranking on Google. Details of the survey are presented in a section below. (Example: #1 means our listing came up number one on a search for hundreds of thousands or millions of instances of that search string request)

Instances of #5 or better -- 68 out of 90 -- 76%
Instances of #10 or better -- 80 out of 90 -- 89%
Elder Attorney Survey
We used three different search categories for elder attorney:
- elder law,
- elder attorney and
- elder law attorney.
The categories were combined into nine different combinations of search strings using state, city and city and state requests. This resulted in 180 unique search strings for each of our 20 elder attorney listings.
Here is a summary of those 180 searches and their ranking on Google. Details of the survey are presented in a section below. (Example: #1 means our listing came up number one on a search for hundreds of thousands or millions of instances of that search string request)

Instances of #1 -- 21 out of 180 -- 12%
Instances of #5 or better -- 106 out of 180 -- 59%
Instances of #10 or better -- 153 out of 180 -- 85%
Long Term Care Insurance Survey
We used only one search category:
- long term care insurance.
This category was combined into three different combinations of search strings using state, city and city and state requests. This resulted in 102 unique search strings for each of our 39 long term care insurance listings.
