New Department of Veterans Affair's regulations require attorneys who represent veterans to become accredited whether a fee is charged or not. Accredidation is a simple process of filling out and submitting VA form 21a (Click here for a copy of Form 21a). After you recieve your accredidation letter from VA, you have 12 months to complete 3 hours of VA approved CLE. This course work must be completed in at least 6 areas of veterans law. LexisNexis provides a VA approved course for $300.00. This is a home study DVD with a paper test. LexisNexis has graciously offered members of the NCPC a 10% discount for this course. A discount code is available to NCPC members in the member area.
